Patanjali Herbal Research Division works on documentation, analysis, designing and project executions of different themes in the alignment of aims and scope of Patanjali institutions. Around 150 well trained scientists with different expertise in Botany, Taxonomy, Microbiology, Biotechnology, etc. Work together on several academic research projects related to plant- based medicine, yoga and any such related field towards conducting extensive research for scientific and empirical evidence in support of therapeutic effects of selected areas. Several research and review articles are published in journals of national as well as international repute having a global visibility for Yoga and Ayurveda with supportive and authenticated data. This division aims to develop systematized and validated research work that shall be highly useful for scientists, researchers and industry experts engaged in the work related to research, development and promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda.

Job Profile for Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture/Vegetable Science)

The Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture/Vegetable Science) is responsible for providing expertise in horticulture and vegetable science to support research, extension, and educational programs. This role involves developing and implementing innovative strategies to enhance horticultural and vegetable production, conducting research, delivering training programs, and providing technical assistance to farmers and other stakeholders.

Qualification & Experience:
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Horticulture or vegetable science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in scientific cultivation of fruits, vegetables, and flowering plants.
  • Experience in developing agriculture models and landscape gardening.
  • Familiarity with fruit orchard management and fruit processing techniques.
  • Experience in conducting training programs and workshops related to horticulture and agriculture.
Key Responsibilities:

Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Conduct scientific research on cultivation techniques for fruits, vegetables, and flowering plants.
  • Develop innovative agriculture models and practices for improved yields and quality.
  • Provide training and guidance to farmers on landscape gardening and fruit processing.
  • Collaborate with other agricultural experts to develop comprehensive strategies for horticultural development.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in horticulture and vegetable science.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of horticultural practices and techniques.
  • Strong publication record in the field of agriculture.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Experience in developing agriculture models and practices.
  • Proficiency in landscape gardening and fruit processing techniques.
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel to rural areas for fieldwork and training programs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as per project requirements.
