Patanjali Herbal Research Division works on documentation, analysis, designing and project executions of different themes in the alignment of aims and scope of Patanjali institutions. Around 150 well trained scientists with different expertise in Botany, Taxonomy, Microbiology, Biotechnology, etc. Work together on several academic research projects related to plant- based medicine, yoga and any such related field towards conducting extensive research for scientific and empirical evidence in support of therapeutic effects of selected areas. Several research and review articles are published in journals of national as well as international repute having a global visibility for Yoga and Ayurveda with supportive and authenticated data. This division aims to develop systematized and validated research work that shall be highly useful for scientists, researchers and industry experts engaged in the work related to research, development and promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda.

Job Profile for Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection)

The Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection) will be responsible for developing and implementing effective plant protection strategies, with a focus on integrated pest management (IPM) and biological control (biocontrol). The role involves conducting research, providing advisory services to farmers, and delivering training programs on plant protection methods

Qualification & Experience:
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in plant protection or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in plant protection.
  • Experience in biocontrol, IPM and integrated disease management (IDM) is desirable.
  • Experience in conducting research and implementing plant protection strategies.
  • Experience in providing training and advisory services to farmers and agricultural stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Conduct Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies for pest control in crops/plants.
  • Conduct research on biological control (biocontrol) methods for insects/pests affecting different crops/plants.
  • Provide plant protection advisory services to farmers and agricultural stakeholders.
  • Design and conduct training programs on biocontrol methods of insects/pests for farmers and extension workers.
  • Collaborate with other agricultural experts and stakeholders to promote sustainable plant protection practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in plant protection and integrate them into the organization's programs and activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional certifications or training in integrated pest management (IPM) and biological control (biocontrol).
  • Strong publication record in the field of agricultural entomology or plant protection.
  • Experience working on projects related to sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.
  • Familiarity with agricultural extension services and rural development programs.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis and research in entomology.
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel to rural areas for fieldwork and training programs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as per project requirements.
