As per Index Herbariorum (1 December 2018), there are 3095 active herbaria in the world, containing 387,513,053 specimens. There are 178 countries with at least one herbarium. Associated with these herbaria are 12,278 staff members and associates. In India 95 active Herbaria is present. Patanjali Research Foundation Herbarium (PRFH) is accredited by Index Herbariorum, New York Botanical Garden, New York. More than 10000 specimen of plants collected from different parts of India.

  1. 10000 plant specimens of Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms and Angiosperms from Eastern and Western Himalaya and Upper Gangetic Plain are present in Patanjali Herbarium with digitalized 2000 herbarium sheets.
